It seems like everywhere you go these days kids are riding kick scooters.  Go to a skate park and we are out numbering skateboarders, bmx and rollerbladers.  So why are kick scooters so popular? and why are so many kids turning to them?

The great thing about kick scooters is that they are fast, durable and they can easily be folded up and placed into a school back pack.  Most scooter riders age between 8 years of age and 15 years of age but people of all ages use them.

Scooters can be used on all types of terrain, originally they were made as a form of transport but now they have evolved in design and they can be used for street riding and skate parks.

Elements that make up kick scooters include, handles, grips, head clamps fender breaks, deck, wheels and bearings.  Depending on what type of kick scooter you are considering buying will depend on a few key factors.

1.       Where will you be riding it?
If you are using it as a form of transport only then a cheaper model such as the Razor A Scooter will be fine.  If you are thinking of hitting up a park and thrashing your scooter around a bit a more expensive Razor Pro Scooter will be called for

2.       How much do you want to spend?
You do get what you pay for, paying more for a kick scooter might be a better investment in the long run.  Once again if you are going to crash and bash your scooter around spending more on a more durable model might be a wise investment.
